Reaseheath College, Cheshire. 28-29th March 2009

Both ECEQE and PECEQE ran this weekend.

With PECEQE being a new course, we felt it was important to make sure everyone was confident with paediatric BLS, for both infants and older children.

The rapid packaging of patients onto spinal boards, with full triple immobilisation, was practiced in the moulages.

There were some tricky stations as usual - including this prone rider by a fence. As you can see they already have a femoral splint applied by some team members, whilst the leader was taking care of the top end. A pelvic binder is laid on top of the casualty, to enable it to be applied more easily once rolled onto the spinal board.

And it didn't end there - her helmet then needed removing whilst preserving stabilisation of the C-spine!
